You may want to add full access permissions to a mailbox for a specific user or group.

If you have just created a shared mailbox, you will need to assign permissions to an individual or group so that you can access this.

This guide will teach you how to add full access permissions to a mailbox via powershell.

 

Preparation

You need to get the following information before you create the shared mailbox:

Variable Value (example shown)
<shared mailbox alias> sharedmb1
<user or group UPN> user1@domain.com

 

Implementation

Create Shared Mailbox

Add-MailboxPermission <shared mailbox alias> -User <user or group UPN> -AccessRights FullAccess

 

Example:

Add-MailboxPermission sharedmb1 -User user1@domain.com -AccessRights FullAccess
